Enter the Tribal Market, and you quickly realize you have just stepped foot into a unique and eclectic gallery of beautiful art from all over the world . Vanessa, the owner of the charming Tribal Market and also a practicing midwife, finds the treasures within the shop from areas all over the world. She and her family turn the quests for trinkets and handmade items into once in a lifetime journeys for them all to enjoy. She has obtained one of a kind items from places such as Bali, Laos, Cambodia, Peru, Mexico and many more countries. Vanessa also includes handcrafted pieces such as jewelry and stained glass made by local artists in the gallery, as well as some of her own jewelry. The exotic and rare offerings of the Tribal Market are perfect for those searching for their own unique piece of the world.
Tribal Market opened 4 years ago and has since grown into a quaint shop (referred to as the art gallery), a studio available for classes and a coffee shop/eatery. Within the gallery you can find everything from handmade rugs made from recycled plastic, to original textiles and tapestries, marvelous handmade jewelry, natural oils, masks, hand sewn purses and clothing plus everything in between. Every item is unique and one of a kind. Nothing ever comes from a factory, therefore every item is exclusive and never duplicated. Vanessa receives all the beautiful items directly from the artists and works closely with indigenous tribes and families to insure all treasures she purchases benefit them directly. Vanessa takes great pride in the rare pieces she finds and can tell you exactly where each piece came from. The newly opened coffee shop and eatery is a great addition to the Tribal Market property. The cafe’ offers a refreshing array of beverages and specializes in ethnic cuisine from all over the world.
Connected to the art gallery is a spacious studio that offers a multitude of classes and workshops. There is a variety of classes offered ranging from prenatal care courses, yoga, meditation, and a monthly psychology workshop. The studio can also be rented out for other classes and workshops and can be organized and planned out through Vanessa. There are monthly courses also offered, including a sacred chant workshop held every Thursday at 4pm, and a ceremony held every full moon. Both of these and others are free to anyone who would like to participate. Vanessa is a firm believer in offering “positive activities” and loves having the means to offer them to the community. Be sure to stop in and see what other classes are available this month!
